The story of the docudrama
In this docudrama, may questions have been raised regarding Shastri’s death. His son and grandson give away the narrative and they precisely mention that cuts were seen on the body that was brought to India. The film throws light on the various possibilities in the real life that might have been kept classified or hidden from the people of the nation. It explores the possibility of Shastri Ji’s meeting with Subhash Chandra Bose and the involvement of external agencies. It even brings up questions of whether he was poisoned, along with many other uncomfortable truths regarding his death.
Kuldeep Nayyar– an Indian journalist and ex-High Commissioner of India to the UK also shares his view of the suspected involvement of various agencies and delegators. The people were quite disappointed by his decision to sign the treaty and Shastri had decided to talk them into it once he was back. However, ‘fate’ did not let him do so. His meeting with Subhas Chandra Bose makes the death a little more mysterious and sudden. The cast chosen for the docudrama has completely justified their roles and walked perfectly in their shoes.

The day of release is chosen perfectly well and, the cast adds colours to the film. They have brought up varied classified subjects which were hardly known to the common people. In addition to the unanswered questions already persisting for decades, the drama also throws light upon other possibilities and perceptions which were never thought of before. The execution of the story is completely smooth and undisturbed.
In 1977 i.e. 11 years after his death, a parliament was appointed. Yet, none of the only two witnesses could appear in the court. Despite the numerous perceptions, questions, and theories, Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death still remains a mystery. This docudrama is a perfect tribute to the person as well as the occasion of Independence Day. Hopefully, someday, Shastri’s family, as well as the nation, can see the last page of his life instead of the cover-up and mysteries.
