A person is known by its kind gesture and humbleness towards others. Our Honourable President Ram Nath Kovind is an example. On his two-day visit to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he visited the senior school he had joined many years ago. There he met his teachers named Hari Ram Kapoor age 92, and TN Tandon age 86 and Pyare Lal age 98.
Two of his teachers were sitting on the dais there. While meeting them he touched their feet and draped shawl upon their shoulders as a mark of respect. His teachers were facilitated by seeing his kind gesture. Despite, him reaching on such a post. His teachers were overwhelmed by seeing one of their beloved students.
The third teacher Hari Ram Kapoor was unwell so he could not make it to the dais. So, he walked down to seek blessings from him.
“Guruji, u haven’t forgotten me?” asked President to Pyare Lal his English teacher. Hari Ram Kapoor said that he has been honoured many times, but this surely was one of the most memorable moments for me.
On his two day visit, he addressed the alumni association conference and annual day function of the BNSD inter college and Shiksha Niketan, Kanpur where he had studied. At the event, he inaugurated the institutions centenary celebration. President Kovind stressed on basic values, where he said, modern technology and modern science could hugely benefit humanity.
President talked about many beneficial things about students and showed the right path to the students.
He described his life and said, “it was not easy for me to study in such a good school as his financial condition was not so good”. He marked it as an opportunity to pursue his education from this college. Kovind said that his father too had studied in this college. He was the batch mate of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
