In a report by the World Bank, it has been mentioned that only 6 countries give equal legal work rights. The list includes Belgium, Denmark, France, Latvia, Luxembourg and Sweden.
The business and law 2019 report by the bank measured gender discrimination in 187 countries and found that a decade ago, not a single country gave women and men equal rights. The report found overall significant progress with women’s rights advocacy groups playing an important role in the change.
Though progress has been made in some countries, Middle-East and North African countries made the least progress. The global economy could enrich more if equal rights are provided to all.
