The Indian team have been performing really well under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and guidance of MS Dhoni. Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as one of the key bowling options and Rishabh Pant has also impressed everyone throughout with his aggressive batting style. Comments from behind the wicket. But all this will change when they clash against each other in April for the biggest cricket carnival of the world, the Indian Premier League.
Star Sports has never disappointed us in creating the hype of the tournament. But, this time the stakes have been brought up a notch. Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals) and Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians) have issued challenges to MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings) and Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore). They are all set to take them down.
Rishabh Pant acknowledged MS Dhoni as a teacher and later added that he chose to be a wicket keeper batsman because of Dhoni. But then he also threatened him saying that he will rain down on his team so hard that he won’t stay cool.
Jasprit Bumrah, on the other hand, said that he is not the world’s best bowler yet as he hasn’t taken the wicket of the world’s best batsman, Virat Kohli. He even addressed him as ‘Cheeku Bhaiya’ and reminded him that he is not going to be a part of his team this time.
Both Pant and Bumrah have had their best of performance in the past year. Both Kohli and Dhoni have responded to their challenges in their own style where Kohli applauded Bumrah for trying to sledge against his own captain but also added that he should not expect any favours from him, whereas Dhoni has reminded Pant that when you come out to bat, it will be me behind the wickets only.
The IPL 2019 will begin with defending champions Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Virat Kohli, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23.
Delhi Capitals take on Chennai Super Kings on March 26 at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi, where Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni will clash against each other for the very first. The first game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore is going to be held on March 28 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, which will be a clash between world’s best batsman and world’s best bowler, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.
But all of these fun games kept aside, Kohli, Dhoni, Bumrah and Pant, for now, will have only one thing in their mind, to take down Australia at any cost.
