eCourts Services App Gets Popularity Among People

In one of the most significant court reforms initiative. Twenty-month ago Chief Justice of India JS Khehar and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had announced e-Court Services App. The app meant to monitor and provide information for the judiciary system. And stakeholders such as citizens, lawyers, litigants, police and government agencies.

Officially launched in August last year. The app has claimed to become a one-stop point to all information related to cases in districts and high courts. It has not only helped in tracking court cases but also monitor the performance of judges of the district and subordinate courts.

At present, it is linked to 21 high courts and 18,000 districts and subordinate courts in the country.

The app provides case status and the entire history of almost all 3.2 crore cases. A user can get current status for case by entering CNR number, which is assigned to each case filed in district and taluka courts.

The case status can also be searched through other options such as filing number, advocate name, FIR number or Act type.

NIC-developed app also gives notification regarding the next date of hearing of a case. Judgments copies are available on the app for future purpose.
