Ethiopian Airlines Flight Crashes With 157 People On Board

All 157 people travelling in an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 flight, were killed soon after the taking off from Addis Ababa on Sunday morning.

The flight carrying 149 passengers and eight crew members left Bole airport in Addis Ababa at 8:38 am local time. It lost contact with the control tower just after a few minutes later at 8:44 am.

The airline issued a statement saying, “The group CEO who is at the accident scene right now regrets to confirm that there are no survivors. He expresses his profound sympathy and condolences to the families and loved ones of passengers and crew who lost their lives in this tragic accident.” The flight carried passengers from 33 different countries.

The last major accident involving Ethiopian Airlines flight was in January 2010, killing 83 passengers and seven crew members when the flight from Beirut went down.
