The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will offer a new M.Tech course in artificial intelligence starting this academic year.
The two-year course will tap into growing demand for artificial intelligence, machine learning and related streams that have applications in industries ranging from healthcare to aerospace engineering, the report said.
The report said that the interdisciplinary course will be offered by a division of the electronics, engineering and computer science departments. Applicants from multiple disciplines will be called for interviews based on their scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
The subjects that will be taught in the course include machine learning for signal processing, machine learning with large data sets, deep learning for computer vision, the theory and practice of deep learning and online prediction learning.
