Sony Chairman and Former Chief Executive Officer Kazuo Hirai announce his plan to retire from the company after working for the past 35 years. The plan of his retirement was announced on Thursday. Kazuo Hirai will retire on June 18.

Hirai was the president of Sony since 2012, shortly after he lost $6.4 billion in the year 2011. Kazuo Hirai firstly was the CEO of the company and after stepping down in the year 2018 he became the Chairperson. Hirai with finance chief helped to reinvent Sony as the entertainment company, after battling the years of losses.
