1. Kaziranga National Park, Assam:

This unstretched land of the forest includes various wildlife animals that are a sight to watch out for. This marshland is located in the heart of Assam. This place is visited by the hurdles of people. The attractions include one-horned rhino in National Park which is an endangered species. On the other hand, the elephants, wild water buffaloes and Swamp Deers can also be seen on safari. You can rent an elephant safari or Jeep safari to explore the park. It is declared by UNESCO as the world heritage site and is a pride of Assam. Best time to visit this place is from November to April. It is closed during monsoon season.

Safari can be enjoyed 7:30 in the morning till 10 am and 1:30 or 3 pm sunset.

2. Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh:

Ziro Valley is the flat land with adorable beauty. It is surrounded by mountains and villages where the population is of Apatani tribe. This tribe is friendly and takes good care of the visitors. Ziro Valley serves as a perfect ground for the visitors to celebrate music festival every year.

People of this tribe will assimilate you in their traditional dresses and will help you to enjoy and explore the place. You can shop handmade crafts of Apatani people, clothes and bamboo items like bamboo basket etc. This tradition makes this place the most visited place by the tourists. You can visit this place throughout the year. Festival is celebrated mostly in the month of September and October. Distance from Itanagar Is 110 km.

3. Nohkalikai Falls, Meghalaya:

This waterfall has an altitude of 1100 ft., making it the fourth highest waterfall in the world. It is just 5 km away from Cherrapunjee and a short trekking trail to reach the ultramarine pool. It can be best viewed by the viewing gallery. Best time to visit this place is in the spring season. Post monsoon time is the best time to see that waterfall from such a huge height. It is around 55 km from Shillong. Entry is free of cost.

4. Gorichen Peak, Arunachal Pradesh:

On your way from Bomdila to Tawang, you can enjoy the magnificent vistas of the Gorichen peak. It is one of the toughest treks in the northeastern part of India as the peak is located at a height of 22,500 feet. Gorichen peak is 164 km from Tawang town and shares its boundary with China. This place can be visited between the months of April to October. It is around 55 km from Tawang.

5. Umiam Lake:

This artificial reservoir is situated 5 km to the north of Shillong and is an undefining spot to visit this summer. It is spread over 222 square kilometres. It is surrounded by dense stretches of coniferous forests. Lake often indulges tourists in boating and park nearly serves best to every age limit. The beauty of Lake is enhanced by the Khasi hills which bestows the traveller with the unparalleled beauty of this place. Tourists can visit here anytime between October And May. No entry fee for the lake, but for the different event, you have to pay. It is located in Ri Bhoi district, Nongpoh, India.

6. Tsomgo Lake, Sikkim:

The unwinding journey of roads which makes it a 38 km journey from Gangtok to reach an altitude of 12,400 ft is adorable. Tsomgo lake at such an elevation seems so beautiful. The snow clad mountains are the main source for the water in Lake as it melts from the mountains.

In winters this turns into snow and that site is beautiful to watch out for. Best time to visit this place is in winter where you can enjoy Yak safari in the frozen lake from October to March. Ropeway facility is also available from 8 am to 3 pm.

7. Yuksom:

This small village is situated near Kanchenjunga National Park and boasts of matchless beauty. It lies in Western Sikkim region which serves as a hotspot to the adventurous soul as it gets access to Base Camp Mt. Attractions in Yuksom are Kathok Wodsallin Gompa, Tashi Tenka, Dubdi Gompa and many other places. It is around 125 km from Gangtok. It is located at Yuksom, West Sikkim.
